We are specialists in the area of IP Video. Our knowledge is within the field of delivering networked CCTV and remote monitoring solutions for security and surveillance applications. We further offer webcam solutions for construction projects and provide webcam hosting and video streaming services to the leisure and event sectors.

Our vision

Video over IP is becoming commonplace in our lives. YouTube and IP TV are good examples of popular use of this technology. Within security, there has been a rapid convergence towards IP-based systems over the last 5 years. We believe that this trend will continue and that eventually Security and Video Surveillance will be delivered predominantly via IP infrastructures.

Since our inception in 2004, we have been at the forefront of IP convergence, and we are exited about growing our expertise and developing our ideas from where we are today.

Our flexible approach - You choose

We are completely flexible regarding the amount of assistance you receive from us.

If you just wish us to supply you with equipment and do the installation yourself, that's fine. If you need technical support after your purchase, we will provide that to you for free. Or if you would like us to commission the system you have installed (for peace of mind), no problem, we offer to do this for you this at a charge that is fair.

On the other hand, if you wish us to advise on the system design and work with you on the delivery and maintenance of your project throughout, we are as much your partner in doing it this way.

Our history

NW Systems Group Limited was established in 2004. At that point, founding members Robert Kilgour, Kevin Bowyer and Frank Crouwel had already built up 15 years of experience in the IP video market between them. At the time, we anticipated that the IP surveillance market was soon to accelerate and we created Network Webcams with the aim to become a leading company in this field. Our success to date is evidence that rapid market growth has indeed been taking place. Network Webcams has been a key contributor to this development and we are acknowledged within the industry as one of the leading firms in IP CCTV today.

At the end of 2006 we expanded some of our services into Europe and in January 2008 we established a US division with offices in New York to serve the North American market.

Our future

We don't know what the future holds, but our aim is to continue developing our knowledge base and our expertise and to stay at the forefront of network video.

Our management team

Robert Kilgour, co-founder and non-executive director

Robert is a successful Scottish entrepreneur with involvement in the IP video market since 1999. Amongst many other activities and interests, Robert has served on the CBI Scottish Council, CBI UK SME Council and the Scottish Growing Business Forum. He is a member of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, Institute of Directors, Association of Project Managers and he is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. Robert was Chairman of the Fife Macmillan Cancer Project (1993-95), a public appeal which raised £1.75M towards improving hospice provision in Fife in Scotland. He has recently donated £50,000 to help establish a Macmillan Cancer Information Centre at a London hospital to mark his 50th birthday. Read more about Robert.

Kevin Bowyer, co-founder and technical director

Kevin has built-up hands-on experience with IP video implementations and application development dating back to 1999. He started working in the Internet industry in the mid 1990's, building small-scale websites for Scoot UK. Kevin then became senior designer, helping to build Scoot's large web team and e-commerce proposition before moving into IP video in 1999. As Web Director at Evolve, Kevin spearheaded the technical development and delivery of their professional IP video product range, including streaming video and webcasting services. Over the years, Kevin has built up a huge amount of experience and knowledge of IP video and security technologies.

Frank Crouwel, co-founder and managing director

Originally from a legal consultancy background, Frank has been involved with the CCTV industry since 1999, first as general manager and later as managing director of CCTV equipment manufacturer Charles Grant Ltd, Frank turned a loss-making company into a rapidly expanding and profitable firm within the space of two years, with export growth from zero to 40%. During this period Frank sealed OEM contracts with leading manufacturers Panasonic, AXIS Communications, Vicon Industries and GE Interlogix. He secured a €1,2m EU subsidy for the company's R&D programme and successfully led the resulting project partnership involving eight high-tech companies from five different European countries. Frank has a track record of implementing successful strategies within the security industry and is broadly skilled in the area of CCTV design.
