Freightliner expands Axis camera system

Freightliner has instructed Network Webcams to expand its existing IP camera network with an additional 26 Axis IP cameras.

Freightliner uses the camera system for 24/7 site security and to monitor container handling, record vehicle registration numbers, container ID numbers and container seals, and to control access security at the terminal gates.

The Axis network cameras are installed across Freightliner's UK-wide depot network. All cameras are accessible via the company's LAN. This allows Freightliner managers to view live and recorded CCTV footage from wherever they are on the company network.

For years Freightliner has been using their Axis camera network in day-to-day operations, which has improved efficiency, and have used recorded CCTV successfully as evidence in disputes and legal cases.
