Image Quality

The most important aspect of any camera security system is the quality of the video images it produces. To deliver optimum image quality, you need to understand all technologies involved from image capture at the camera end, transmission via IP networks and delivery of the image on a viewing monitor or recording device for later playback.

In practice this means assessing light levels, selecting the right camera, the right lens, the right monitor and choosing the correct compression method, recording platform and camera settings etc. HD resolution cameras, Megapixel technology and H.264 compression allows for high quality CCTV at lower bit rates. At Network Webcams we have learned to understand the complexities of IP CCTV over the years. As a result, we know how to deliver the best image quality possible.

Recording and Storage

For CCTV recording, we offer server based solutions such as Milestone open platform software as well as manufacturer proprietory software solutions. We also provide recording solutions to Mac users. Software based recording and management systems can be designed with future expansion in mind, whether this is an addition of cameras, an increase in sites or additional storage capacity. Expansion is virtually limitless.

Box solutions include Network Video Recorders (NVRs), Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) with network capability or hybrid machines accepting both analogue and Ethernet inputs. NVR based solutions often offer the same scalability as software based recording solutions.

It is important to recognise the development of the ONVIF standard (arguably the most mature of the competing standards) within IP video and CCTV. Initiated by Axis, Sony and Bosch, the ONVIF standard will ensure interoperability between network video products regardless of manufacturer. In practice this will mean that any ONVIF compatible camera will work with any ONVIF compatible recording software or device.

We also offer MVAAS (Managed Video as a Service) solutions for the off-site recording and management of CCTV images. With the MVAAS model, the video recording and management software is hosted as a service and accessible to users via the Internet. MVAAS solutions eliminate the requirement to install or run software on your own computers.

Intelligent Video Solutions

Intelligent Video Analytics takes networked-based CCTV a step forward from conventional CCTV. With Intelligent Video you can detect alarm situations automatically. You no longer need to rely solely on CCTV operators or install expensive PIR detection equipment. IP CCTV systems are able to alert you and others simultaneously via on-screen pop-up messages, e-mail or text. At the same time they can trigger local noise alarms or play pre-recorded messages.

Detection Solutions

We offer a range of indoor and outdoor Motion Detectors to complement the Video Motion Detection (VMD) integrated within IP cameras and make your CCTV installation more robust. Long range PIR detectors, for example, are more suitable for perimeter protection and connecting multiple detectors to a pan-tilt-zoom camera will make the camera move to the zone where detection has taken place. Without an additional detector, this may be missed. In some scenarios, PIR motion detectors are preferred over VMD as they may lead to fewer false alarms.

Lighting

Where night-time monitoring is required and light levels are low, we offer both White Light and Infrared solutions to allow 24 hour CCTV surveillance.

Audio Solutions

Audio can be one way, allowing you to listen in, or two way, allowing you to also talk back. Audio can be recorded with the video, giving you more information about what happened when playing back the CCTV footage. On detection, systems can be set to play a pre-recorded message warning intruders of any dangers or the fact that they have been caught and are under CCTV surveillance.

Networked Access Control

We can integrate access control within your IP video system. This will enable you to view door and gate entries and allows you to control access to your premises via your computer network. All comings and goings can be recorded as video with log files attached.

Mounting

We offer a wide range of camera housings enabling installation of CCTV in any environment and for any application, whether your requirement is vandal resistance, discreet surveillance or installation under extreme conditions. In addition, we offer brackets, poles and adaptors to allow camera installation in areas where there is no obvious mounting location.

Green Power

Where no power is available or 'green' power is a requirement we offer a wind and solar powered solution that delivers renewable energy which is stored in a battery pack ready to power CCTV cameras when darkness falls. Green power in combination with Satellite broadband offers a solution for IP CCTV installation in the remotest of places.
